There’s a quiet peace that comes with a warm bowl of miso soup. It’s light, savory, and always calms my mind, especially after a busy day.

Traditional Miso Soup

15 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 4 cups dashi broth
  • 3 tbsp miso paste
  • 1/2 block silken tofu, cubed
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into thin strips

Steps

  1. Heat dashi broth in a pot until just simmering, do not boil.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk miso paste with a little hot dashi until smooth. Add back to the pot, stirring gently.
  3. Add cubed tofu and cook for 2-3 minutes to warm through. Do not boil after adding miso.
  4. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions and nori strips.
