Quick Stovetop Mac and Cheese

Ingredients

  • 1 cup elbow macaroni
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  4. Remove from heat, stir in cheese until melted. Add macaroni, salt, and pepper.
