NostalgicUSAHomemade Apple Pie

When I’m feeling a bit nostalgic for my grandma, there’s nothing that brings me back quite like a slice of warm apple pie. It just tastes like childhood memories and comfort.

Grandma's Simple Apple Pie

1 hour 30 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 6 medium apples (like Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Peel, core, and slice apples. In a large bowl, toss apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  3. Pour apple mixture into the pie crust. Dot with butter.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce heat to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 35-45 minutes, or until crust is golden brown and apples are tender.
