Whenever I’m feeling a bit nostalgic for my childhood, I just have to bake my grandma’s apple pie. The smell instantly takes me back to her kitchen, and every bite is pure comfort.
Classic Comfort Apple Pie
Ingredients
- Pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Steps
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Peel, core, and slice apples. Mix with sugars and cinnamon.
- Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate. Fill with apple mixture, dot with butter, and top with second crust.
- Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until golden brown and apples are tender.
- Cool before serving.
