Whenever I’m feeling a bit nostalgic for my grandma’s kitchen, nothing beats a warm slice of apple pie. The smell alone brings back so many happy memories.
Classic Apple Pie
Ingredients
- 1 double pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 6 medium apples (Granny Smith or Fuji), sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cubed
Steps
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, sugar, flour, and cinnamon.
- Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie plate. Fill with apple mixture, dot with butter, and top with the second crust. Crimp edges and cut vents.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then reduce temperature to 375°F (190°C) and bake for another 35-45 minutes, or until crust is golden and apples are tender.
- Let cool before serving.
