Ingredients

  • Elbow macaroni
  • Whole milk
  • Sharp cheddar cheese
  • Butter
  • Flour

  • Pepper

Steps

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour to make a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened, then remove from heat. Stir in cheese until melted.
