Classic Steak Frites
Ingredients
- Sirloin or ribeye steak
- Potatoes (Russet or Yukon Gold)
- Butter
- Garlic cloves
- Fresh rosemary
- Olive oil
- Salt
- Black pepper
Steps
- Cut potatoes into fries and fry or bake until golden and crispy.
- Pat steak dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over high heat until smoking. Sear steak for 2-4 minutes per side for desired doneness.
- Add butter, crushed garlic, and rosemary to the pan, basting the steak. Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with fries.
