When I’m feeling a bit anxious or overwhelmed, a classic grilled cheese sandwich always brings me back down. It’s such a simple, comforting meal, like a warm hug in food form.

Classic Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 2 slices bread (sourdough or white)
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese
  • 1 tbsp butter

Steps

  1. Butter one side of each bread slice.
  2. Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Top with cheese slices, then the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
  4. Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve immediately.
