CelebratoryMexicoChurros con Chocolate

When there’s something to celebrate, my family always makes churros with thick, rich chocolate. The crispy, sweet churros dipped in warm chocolate just feel like pure joy!

Classic Churros with Chocolate Sauce

45 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Cinnamon sugar for dusting

Steps

  1. In a saucepan, bring water, butter, sugar, and salt to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in flour until a ball forms.
  2. Beat in eggs one at a time until smooth. Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
  3. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Pipe 4-5 inch strips of dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, turning once.
  4. Remove churros, drain on paper towels, and toss immediately in cinnamon sugar. Serve warm with chocolate sauce.
