Chicken Biryani
Ingredients
- 2 cups basmati rice
- 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1/4 cup biryani masala
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- Saffron strands (optional)
Steps
- Marinate chicken with yogurt, biryani masala, and a pinch of salt for at least 30 minutes.
- Fry sliced onions until golden brown. Cook rice until 70% done and drain.
- Layer marinated chicken, fried onions, and partially cooked rice in a heavy-bottomed pot. Sprinkle with cilantro and saffron.
