Simple Dal Makhani
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole black lentils (urad dal)
- 1/4 cup kidney beans (rajma)
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 cup cream
- 2 tbsp butter
Steps
- Soak lentils and beans overnight, then boil until tender.
- Sauté onion, ginger-garlic paste until fragrant.
- Add tomato puree, cook until oil separates.
- Stir in boiled lentils and beans, garam masala, and water; simmer 20 min.
- Finish with cream and butter, serve hot with rice or naan.
