Chicken Biryani
Ingredients
- 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
- 2 cups basmati rice, soaked
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 onions, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- Biryani spice mix
Steps
- Marinate chicken in yogurt and biryani spice mix for at least 30 minutes.
- Fry sliced onions until golden brown. Layer marinated chicken, partially cooked rice, and fried onions in a heavy-bottomed pot.
- Add chopped tomatoes and a little water. Cover tightly and cook on low heat (dum style) for 40-50 minutes.
- Fluff gently with a fork before serving.
