Chicken Biryani

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 cups basmati rice, soaked
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • Biryani spice mix

Steps

  1. Marinate chicken in yogurt and biryani spice mix for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Fry sliced onions until golden brown. Layer marinated chicken, partially cooked rice, and fried onions in a heavy-bottomed pot.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes and a little water. Cover tightly and cook on low heat (dum style) for 40-50 minutes.
  4. Fluff gently with a fork before serving.
