Simple Home-Style Chicken Curry

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 lb chicken thighs, diced
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat oil in a pot. Sauté onion until golden. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for 1 minute.
  2. Add chicken and brown. Stir in turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, and garam masala; cook for 2 minutes.
  3. Add crushed tomatoes and water. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 20-25 minutes until chicken is tender.
  4. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with rice or naan.
