After a tough day, sometimes I need a powerful meal to recharge. A perfectly cooked steak frites makes me feel determined and ready to take on tomorrow!

Pan-Seared Steak Frites

Ingredients

  • 2 sirloin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, smashed
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • 2 large potatoes, cut into fries
  • Salt, pepper

Steps

  1. Season steaks generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Fry potatoes for frites until golden and crispy; keep warm.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over high heat. Sear steaks 2-3 min per side.
  4. Add butter, garlic, rosemary; baste steaks as they finish cooking to desired doneness.
  5. Rest steaks 5 min before slicing. Serve with frites.
