Classic Peruvian Ceviche

20 minutes (+ marinating) • Medium

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh white fish (e.g., cod, tilapia), cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 aji limo pepper (or jalapeño), minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine fish, red onion, and aji limo pepper.
  2. Pour lime juice over the mixture, ensuring all fish is submerged. Stir gently.
  3. Marinate in the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes, or until fish turns opaque.
  4. Stir in cilantro, season with salt and pepper, and serve immediately.
