When I’m in an indulgent mood, there’s absolutely nothing better than a warm, gooey chocolate lava cake. That molten center is pure bliss, a perfect little luxury.
Decadent Chocolate Lava Cakes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 4 oz good quality dark chocolate, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Steps
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Butter and flour four 6-ounce ramekins.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter and chocolate together in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until light and fluffy. Gently fold in the melted chocolate mixture.
- Fold in flour and salt until just combined. Divide batter evenly among the prepared ramekins. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still jiggly. Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
