Any time there’s something to celebrate, big or small, I instantly think of making chocolate lava cakes. That gooey, molten center just screams pure joy!

Decadent Chocolate Lava Cakes

30 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Steps

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Butter and flour four ramekins.
  2. 2. Melt butter and chocolate together in a double boiler or microwave until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. 3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until light and creamy. Fold in flour and salt.
  4. 4. Gently fold the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Divide batter among ramekins and bake for 12-14 minutes, until edges are set but center is still jiggly.
  5. 5. Invert onto plates, dust with powdered sugar, and serve immediately.
