Any time there’s something to celebrate, big or small, I instantly think of making chocolate lava cakes. That gooey, molten center just screams pure joy!
Decadent Chocolate Lava Cakes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Steps
- 1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Butter and flour four ramekins.
- 2. Melt butter and chocolate together in a double boiler or microwave until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- 3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until light and creamy. Fold in flour and salt.
- 4. Gently fold the cooled chocolate mixture into the egg mixture. Divide batter among ramekins and bake for 12-14 minutes, until edges are set but center is still jiggly.
- 5. Invert onto plates, dust with powdered sugar, and serve immediately.
