Classic Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup
Ingredients
- 4 slices bread (e.g., sourdough or white)
- 4 slices cheese (cheddar or provolone)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 (10.75-oz) can condensed tomato soup
- 1/2 cup milk or water
- Salt and pepper to taste
Steps
- Butter one side of each bread slice. Place two slices butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat.
- Top each with two slices of cheese, then cover with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
- Cook for 3-5 minutes per side, until bread is golden brown and cheese is melted and bubbly. While grilling, heat tomato soup with milk/water in a saucepan, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Serve grilled cheese immediately with hot tomato soup for dipping.
