Decadent Chocolate Lava Cake

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and flour two 6-ounce ramekins.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together in a microwave or double boiler until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until pale and thick. Gently fold in the melted chocolate mixture and then the flour until just combined.
  4. Divide batter evenly between the ramekins. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until edges are set but the center is still soft. Invert onto plates and dust with powdered sugar.
