Authentic Pho Bo Broth (Simplified)

3 hours (broth) + 30 minutes • Hard

Ingredients

  • Beef bones
  • Star anise
  • Cinnamon stick
  • Ginger
  • Fish sauce
  • Rice noodles
  • Thinly sliced beef
  • Herbs (cilantro, mint, basil)

Steps

  1. Roast beef bones, ginger, and spices, then simmer in water for 2-3 hours for broth.
  2. Strain broth, season with fish sauce.
  3. Cook rice noodles.
  4. Assemble bowls with noodles, thinly sliced beef, and herbs.
  5. Pour hot broth over ingredients to cook the beef and serve.
