I’m always curious to try new foods, and homemade falafel was a revelation! The crispy outside and tender inside are just irresistible, and it’s surprisingly fun to make.
Homemade Falafel

- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced

Steps
- Drain soaked chickpeas. Combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, baking soda, salt, and pepper in a food processor. Pulse until finely chopped but not a paste.
- Form mixture into small balls or patties.
- Heat about 2 inches of oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry falafel in batches for 3-5 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
