Quick Homemade Hummus

15 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for drizzling)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • Salt to taste
  • Pita bread for serving

Steps

  1. Combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, 2 tbsp olive oil, cumin, and salt in a food processor.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy, adding a tablespoon or two of cold water if needed to reach desired consistency.
  3. Spoon hummus into a serving bowl. Drizzle with extra olive oil and sprinkle with a pinch of paprika or chopped parsley if desired.
  4. Serve immediately with warm pita bread or fresh vegetables.
