Easy Homemade Falafel
Ingredients
- 1 (15-oz) can chickpeas (drained, rinsed)
- 1/2 small onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Vegetable oil for frying
Steps
- In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, and coriander. Pulse until coarsely chopped.
- Add flour and baking powder, pulse until just combined. Do not overmix. Form into small patties or balls.
- Heat about 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry falafel for 3-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Serve hot in pita bread with tahini sauce.
