Classic Beef Empanadas
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 12 empanada discs (store-bought)
Steps
- Brown ground beef in a skillet. Drain excess fat. Add chopped onion and cook until softened.
- Stir in beef broth, cumin, and paprika. Simmer until liquid is mostly absorbed. Season with salt and pepper; let cool.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Place a spoonful of beef filling on one half of each empanada disc.
- Fold the disc over to form a half-moon. Crimp the edges with a fork to seal.
- Place empanadas on a baking sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm.
