Vanilla Cupcakes with Buttercream

45 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Buttercream frosting, sprinkles

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  3. Alternately add dry ingredients and milk to the wet ingredients, beginning and ending with dry, mixing until just combined.
  4. Fill cupcake liners 2/3 full. Bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting and decorating.
