Classic Arroz con Leche
Ingredients
- 1 cup white rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Peel of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Steps
- Rinse the rice thoroughly.
- Combine rice, milk, cinnamon stick, and lemon peel in a saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender and milk has thickened (about 30-35 minutes).
- Stir in sugar and vanilla extract. Remove cinnamon stick and lemon peel before serving warm or chilled.
