Creamy Arroz con Leche

45 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 cup short-grain rice
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Steps

  1. Rinse rice. In a saucepan, combine rice, milk, cinnamon stick, and salt.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30 minutes or until rice is tender.
  3. Stir in sugar and vanilla extract. Cook for another 5-10 minutes until thickened.
  4. Remove cinnamon stick. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with ground cinnamon.
