Abuela's Simple Arroz con Leche
Ingredients
- 1 cup short-grain rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 lemon peel strip
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Pinch of ground cinnamon for garnish
Steps
- Rinse rice under cold water.
- Combine rice, milk, sugar, lemon peel, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
- Simmer uncovered for 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender and mixture has thickened.
- Remove lemon peel and cinnamon stick. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with ground cinnamon.
