Classic Arroz con Leche
Ingredients
- 1 cup short-grain rice
- 4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Lemon peel (from 1/2 lemon)
Steps
- Rinse rice and combine with milk, cinnamon stick, and lemon peel in a saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 30-35 minutes until rice is tender and mixture is creamy.
- Stir in sugar and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove cinnamon stick and lemon peel before serving warm or chilled.
