I’m feeling so grateful for my family and all the love around me today. To show my appreciation, I’m making a batch of warm, cheesy arepas, just like my abuela used to make. It’s a taste of home and happiness.

Classic Arepas con Queso

Ingredients

  • Pre-cooked cornmeal (Harina P.A.N.)
  • Water
  • Salt
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Butter

Steps

  1. Mix cornmeal, water, and salt to form a soft dough.
  2. Form small patties, pressing a piece of cheese into the center of each.
  3. Seal the edges and flatten slightly.
  4. Cook on a griddle or in a pan with a little butter until golden brown on both sides.
  5. Serve warm with extra butter if desired.
