When I’m feeling sweet and want to share a treat, baking a batch of fudgy brownies is my absolute favorite. There’s just something so heartwarming about gifting homemade goodies!
Fudgy Chocolate Brownies
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Steps
- 1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
- 2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Stir in sugar until combined. Whisk in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla.
- 3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- 4. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the edge comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter). Cool completely before cutting.
