On a relaxed weekend afternoon, nothing beats enjoying some homemade empanadas. They’re perfect for sharing with friends and always make the atmosphere feel warm and inviting. A little taste of happiness.

Beef Empanadas

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 (10 oz) package empanada dough discs
  • 1 egg, beaten

Steps

  1. Sauté onion and bell pepper in olive oil. Add ground beef and cook until browned, drain fat.
  2. Stir in cumin and paprika. Season with salt and pepper. Let cool completely.
  3. Spoon filling onto one half of each empanada disc. Fold over and crimp edges with a fork.
  4. Brush tops with beaten egg. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown.
