Simple Cucumber Maki

Ingredients

  • Nori sheets
  • Sushi rice
  • Cucumber
  • Rice vinegar
  • Soy sauce (for serving)

Steps

  1. Prepare sushi rice by cooking it and then mixing with a splash of rice vinegar.
  2. Lay a nori sheet on a bamboo rolling mat. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving a border at the top.
  3. Place thin strips of cucumber horizontally across the center of the rice.
  4. Using the mat, carefully roll the nori tightly from the bottom. Moisten the top edge to seal. Slice into individual pieces and serve with soy sauce.
