Creamy Baked Mac and Cheese
Ingredients
- 1 lb elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp butter
- 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 4 cups milk
- 4 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
Steps
- Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute. Gradually whisk in milk until smooth and thickened.
- Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted and smooth. Add cooked macaroni and mix well.
- Pour into a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden.
