When my creative juices are flowing, I love making my own sushi rolls. It’s a fun and artistic way to combine ingredients and make something beautiful to eat.
Simple Veggie Sushi Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 cup sushi rice, cooked and seasoned
- 2 sheets nori
- 1/2 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cucumber, julienned
- 1/4 carrot, julienned
- Soy sauce and wasabi (for serving)
Steps
- Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo rolling mat.
- Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over 2/3 of the nori, leaving a gap at the top.
- Arrange avocado, cucumber, and carrot strips horizontally across the center of the rice.
- Roll the nori tightly from the bottom using the mat. Moisten the top edge of nori to seal.
- Slice the roll into 6-8 pieces with a sharp, wet knife. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
