When I’m feeling creative and want to experiment, making a homemade pizza is my go-to. It’s a blank canvas for flavors, and I love seeing what delicious combinations I can invent!
Homemade Margherita Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 store-bought pizza dough
- 1/2 cup passata (tomato sauce)
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 450F (230C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside.
- Roll out pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Spread passata evenly over the dough, leaving a small crust. Arrange mozzarella slices on top. Drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Carefully transfer pizza to the hot stone/baking sheet. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- Remove from oven, scatter fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve immediately.
