Basic California Rolls
Ingredients
- 2 cups sushi rice, cooked
- 4 sheets nori seaweed
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1 cucumber, julienned
- 1/2 lb imitation crab sticks
- Soy sauce and wasabi for serving
Steps
- Prepare sushi rice according to package directions and let cool slightly.
- Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo rolling mat. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving a border at the top.
- Arrange avocado, cucumber, and crab sticks in a line across the center of the rice.
- Carefully roll the mat tightly from the bottom, pressing gently. Slice the roll into 6-8 pieces and serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
