Every time there’s something to celebrate, big or small, I insist on making chocolate lava cakes. The rich, gooey center just feels so decadent and joyful, perfectly capping off any happy occasion.
Decadent Chocolate Lava Cakes
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 2 egg yolks
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Steps
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Butter and flour 4 ramekins.
- Melt butter and chocolate together in a double boiler or microwave, stir until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, yolks, and sugar until pale. Gradually whisk in chocolate mixture, then fold in flour.
- Divide batter among ramekins. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until edges are set but center is still gooey.
- Invert onto plates, dust with powdered sugar, and serve immediately.
