There’s something incredibly calming about a bowl of authentic Vietnamese Pho. The fragrant broth and fresh herbs just soothe my soul and bring a sense of tranquility.

Quick Chicken Pho Broth

30 minutes • Medium

Ingredients

  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 inch ginger, sliced
  • 1 star anise
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • Cooked chicken, shredded
  • Rice noodles, cooked
  • Fresh cilantro, basil, lime wedges, bean sprouts for garnish

Steps

  1. In a pot, combine chicken broth, ginger, star anise, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes to infuse flavors.
  2. Strain the broth to remove solids. Stir in fish sauce. Keep warm.
  3. Divide cooked rice noodles and shredded chicken into bowls. Ladle hot broth over top.
  4. Garnish with fresh cilantro, basil, lime wedges, and bean sprouts.
