GratefulEnglandApple Crumble

After a day filled with good things, I feel so grateful, and there’s no better way to end it than with a warm apple crumble. It’s simple, comforting, and oh so sweet.

Classic Apple Crumble

1 hour • Easy

Ingredients

  • 6 medium apples (e.g., Gala, Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for apples)
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

Steps

  1. 1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon. Spread evenly in an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  2. 2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and oats. Cut in cold butter with your fingers or a pastry blender until crumbly.
  3. 3. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  4. 4. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly. Serve warm with ice cream or custard.
