Decadent Chocolate Lava Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 oz bittersweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Butter and flour 4 ramekins.
  2. Melt butter and chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl or double boiler until smooth. Let cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, egg yolks, and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually whisk in the chocolate mixture.
  4. Fold in flour and salt until just combined. Divide batter among prepared ramekins.
  5. Bake for 12-14 minutes, or until edges are set but the center is still jiggly. Let cool for 1 minute, then invert onto plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
