When I’m feeling cozy and want something sweet, a warm apple crumble is just divine. Especially with a scoop of ice cream, it’s pure comfort food.

Easy Apple Crumble

Ingredients

  • 4 large apples (peeled, cored, sliced)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter (cubed)
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

Steps

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8x8 inch baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, toss sliced apples with granulated sugar and cinnamon. Spread evenly in the baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and rolled oats. Cut in the cold butter with a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender and bubbly. Serve warm, perhaps with custard or ice cream.
