When the weather turns chilly or I’m feeling a bit under the weather, a warm bowl of miso soup instantly brings me comfort. It’s simple, yet so deeply satisfying.

Classic Miso Soup

15 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 4 cups dashi broth
  • 3 tbsp miso paste
  • 4 oz silken tofu, cubed
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 sheet nori, cut into strips

Steps

  1. Heat dashi broth in a saucepan until simmering.
  2. Remove from heat, dissolve miso paste in a small amount of broth, then add back to the pan.
  3. Gently add tofu cubes and return to low heat, do not boil.
  4. Serve immediately, garnished with sliced green onions and nori strips.
