Swedish Cinnamon Buns (Kanelbullar)
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup softened butter
- Cinnamon-sugar mixture
- Pearl sugar for topping
Steps
- Combine milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit 5 minutes. Add flour, salt, and butter; knead until smooth. Let rise 1 hour.
- Roll dough into a rectangle. Spread with softened butter and sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
- Roll up tightly, slice into 1-inch pieces. Place on baking sheet and let rise 30 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes until golden. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with pearl sugar.
