After a quiet morning, I’m feeling so peaceful. A simple, fresh platter of homemade hummus with warm pita bread is the perfect light meal to maintain this tranquility.

Creamy Homemade Hummus

15 minutes • Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 can (400g) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1/4 cup tahini
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 cup ice cold water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil (plus more for garnish)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pita bread for serving

Steps

  1. Combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, garlic, ice water, and salt in a food processor. Process until very smooth.
  2. While processing, drizzle in 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Continue blending until creamy.
  3. Spoon into a serving bowl, drizzle with extra olive oil, and serve with warm pita bread.
