Classic Pavlova with Berries
Ingredients
- 4 large egg whites, room temperature
- 1 cup superfine sugar
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 cup heavy cream, whipped
- Mixed berries for topping
Steps
- Preheat oven to 250°F (120°C). Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar, beating until stiff, glossy peaks form. Fold in cornstarch and vinegar.
- Spoon meringue onto parchment-lined baking sheet, shaping into a round with a slight dip in the center.
- Bake for 1 hour, then turn off oven and let cool completely inside with door ajar (about 1 hour).
- Top with whipped cream and fresh mixed berries before serving.
