When my hunger pangs hit hard, I always crave fresh sushi rolls. It’s so satisfying, clean, and feels like a little treat!
Easy California Rolls
Ingredients
- 2 cups sushi rice, cooked and seasoned
- 4 sheets nori seaweed
- 1 large avocado, sliced
- 1 cucumber, cut into thin strips
- 8 imitation crab sticks (surimi), halved lengthwise
- Soy sauce and wasabi for serving
- Bamboo rolling mat
Steps
- Place a sheet of nori on a bamboo rolling mat. Spread about 1/2 cup of seasoned sushi rice evenly over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
- Arrange avocado, cucumber, and crab sticks horizontally across the center of the rice.
- Carefully roll the nori tightly from the bottom edge using the bamboo mat, pressing firmly to keep the roll together. Moisten the top border with a little water to seal.
- Slice the roll into 6-8 pieces using a sharp, wet knife. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Serve with soy sauce and wasabi.
