When I’m feeling inspired, I love to whip up a simple yet elegant Pasta Aglio e Olio. The magic of transforming a few basic ingredients into something so delicious always sparks my creativity.

Simple Pasta Aglio e Olio

Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water before draining.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using); cook until garlic is fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn.
  3. Add drained pasta to the skillet with the garlic oil. Toss well. Add reserved pasta water a tablespoon at a time until a light sauce forms.
  4. Stir in fresh parsley, season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
