Simple Margherita Pizza
Ingredients
- 1 lb pizza dough
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
Steps
- 1. Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) with a pizza stone or baking sheet inside. Stretch or roll dough into a 12-inch circle.
- 2. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Arrange mozzarella slices over the sauce.
- 3. Carefully transfer pizza to the hot stone/sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes, until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly.
- 4. Remove from oven, drizzle with olive oil, sprinkle with fresh basil, and a pinch of salt. Slice and serve immediately.
