Decadent Chocolate Fudge Cake
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup hot strong coffee
Steps
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.
- Whisk together flour, cocoa, sugar, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add buttermilk, oil, and eggs to dry ingredients; beat until just combined. Stir in hot coffee until smooth.
- Divide batter evenly between prepared pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pans for 10 minutes, then invert onto wire racks to cool completely before frosting.
